2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. water
1 egg white
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Boil sugar and water together until soft ball is formed in cold water. Pour mixture over stiffly beaten white of egg, beating while pouring. Add nuts and teaspoon of vanilla. When nearly set, drop on wax paper.
