EQUAL COOKING AND BAKING TIPS

Equal® sweetener can be used in a wide variety of recipes ranging from lemonade to coleslaw to chicken stir fry to apple pie and chocolate chip cookies.

Equal can be used as a direct replacement for sugar in practically any recipe where sugar functions primarily as a sweetener (such as beverages, salads, salad dressings, sauces, entrees and fruit pies).

Equal® Spoonful is convenient for use in recipes.  It measures and pours cup for cup and spoon for spoon just like sugar.  Equal, in packet FORM, provides the sweetening equivalency of two teaspoons of sugar per packet.

Although all sugar substitutes sweeten like sugar, their cooking properties are different.  Sugar provides structure, volume, tenderness and browning to recipes -- properties which sugar substitutes do not provide.  Therefore, some modifications to recipes (cakes, custard pies, cheesecakes and cookies) may be required for best results when cooking and baking with a sugar substitute such as Equal. Making these adjustments can be tricky, which is why it is best to use kitchen-tested recipes for optimal results.
