APPLE SQUARES 
5 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
4 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. shortening
2 egg yolks
1 c. cold water

FILLING:

8 to 10 peeled, pared, and sliced apples
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt

GLAZE:

1 c. confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1 lg. cookie sheet with sides

Mix shortening with dry ingredients until forms balls the size of a pea. Mix egg yolk with water and mix into flour mixture until well blended (may need a little more water for right texture for pie crust). Roll out 1/2 the dough in rectangle to fit cookie sheet with lip on it. Put apples sliced into bottom crust. Sprinkle with remaining ingredients. Cover with top crust; crimp edges and trim, if necessary. Bake at 325 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes.

Mix Glaze well and spread on warm squares. Cut into servings and enjoy while warm.
