SERBIAN NUT TORTE 
12 eggs, room temperature
12 tbsp. flour
12 tbsp. sugar
12 tbsp. nuts (pecans or walnuts, finely ground)

Separate egg whites from egg yolks. Put egg whites to beat (form peaks). Mix 12 tablespoons sugar into egg yolks. Stir well (until creamy and lighter in color). Add flour to egg yolks and sugar. Stir well. Add nuts. Stir well. Fold the beaten stiff egg whites into the yolk mixture. Divide evenly into 2 well buttered and floured cake pans (8" or 9"). Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown (toothpick comes out clean).

ICING:

2 1/2 sticks softened sweet butter
3/4 box powdered sugar
1 egg
2 squares semi sweet chocolate, melted & cooled

Mix the above ingredients and spread on cooled cake. Sprinkle ground nuts on top of cake to decorate.
