2 lbs. fresh green beans, or 2 lbs. frozen
1 lb. lamb shoulder, or 1 lb. beef stew chunks
2 med. onions
2 cloves garlic
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
Salt and pepper to taste
1 can tomato sauce (8 oz.) or 3 med. sized fresh tomatoes (cut sm.)
Clean and cut beans in about 2 inch lengths and set aside. Cut meat in 1 inch cubes and saute for 10 minutes. Add onions, garlic and seasonings; saute for 5 minutes more. Add 1/4 cup water and simmer for 10 minutes. Add beans and tomatoes; toss.
Add water to half the depth of the meat and bean mixture. Cover and cook for 20-25 minutes on medium fire or until the beans and meat are tender. Stir occasionally. Serves 4-6.
My mom used to serve this with a bed of plain rice and garden salad.
