EASY- CHEAP- SLOW COOKIN'
STROGANOFF
 
2 (10.75 oz.) cans cream of mushroom soup
1 (10.75 oz.) can cream of chicken soup
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
1 c. sour cream
1/2 c. warm water
1.5-2 lbs lean beef stew meat
fresh parsley
egg noodles or rice (optional)

In a slow cooker, mix first 5 ingredients until blended well. Toss in raw stew meat making sure all of the meat is coated quite well. Set slow cooker on LOW for 6 hours. After the cooking process is complete, serve over egg noodles or rice, garnish with parsley.

Cooks Note: This dish is also wonderful cooked with fresh mushrooms, but I can't get my family to like them :)

This was so easy to make, reasonable on my checkbook, and the whole family loved it (which is very rare)! I might add potatoes next time to add a little more texture. Delicious!

Great recipe. I used an envelope of Lipton Beefy Onion soup since it's what I had on hand at the time and added egg noodles for the last minutes of cooking.

We really liked this easy stroganoff! My husband's favorite dish is stroganoff but I don't like taking the time for the more complicated ones. This one is simple. I did make two small changes to the original recipe, I substituted cream of celery soup for the cream of chicken and I didn't have 2 cream of mushroom but I did have a Progresso creamy mushroom soup so I used that instead and it turned out fabulous and the Progresso Creamy mushroom added alot more mushrooms than the condensed soup does. Great recipe. Thanks for posting!

Since I initially made this recipe I've further modified it by using 1 more can of Cream of Mushroom soup instead of the Cream of Chicken and I use 2 lbs of stir fry meat instead beef stew meat and only cook it for 5 hrs on low.

Ez! Love it! My kids are not big on mushrooms either, so I sauté some on the side for my wife and I, and add it in as needed. Yum. Also, near east has all different flavor rices so I'm going to try this over a ginger rice too. V
