MAPLE SYRUP CAKE 
CAKE:

4 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. maple syrup
3/4 c. milk

ICING:

2/3 c. butter
2/3 c. maple syrup
4 c. confectioners sugar
2/3 c. walnuts

CAKE: Grease and flour three 9 inch cake pans. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix maple syrup with milk. Add flour, milk syrup to mixture. Mix well. Divide into 3 pans. Make a depression in center of batter. Bake 30 to 35 minutes. I cool 15 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool.

ICING: Cream butter, add sugar and syrup. Beat until smooth. Place cooled cake on plate. Frost with icing and a few chopped nuts. Repeat with next 2 layers. Cover top with rest of icing and nuts.
