CABBAGE SOUP 
2 tbsp. butter
2 yellow onions, chopped
2 carrots
1 cloves of garlic
1 med. uncooked potatoes, cut in sm. pieces
2 bottles or cups of ginger ale
2 chicken bouillon cubes
1/2 sm. cabbage, shredded finely
Salt and pepper
1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
1/2 c. chopped boiled ham

Saute onions and carrots in butter for 3 minutes. Add garlic and potatoes. Add ginger ale, bouillon and cabbage. Season with salt and pepper. Add caraway seeds. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Stir in ham. Check seasoning and serve with black bread.
