JANE DAVIS' BROWNIES 
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
3 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate, chopped coarse
1 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 lg. eggs
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease bottom and sides of 8-inch square pan. Line with waxed paper letting ends extend above pan two sides. Lightly grease paper.

Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Melt butter in a medium-sized saucepan over low heat. Add unsweetened chocolate and stir until chocolate melts completely.

Stir sugar, vanilla and eggs into chocolate mixture. Spread evenly in prepared pan. Bake 20-25 minutes until top is firm when lightly touched. Do not overbake. Cool in pan on wire rack. Lift, holding waxed paper ends, from pan to cutting board. Cut in squares and enjoy your brownies.
