AN EGGLESS CAKE 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1 1/3 c. sugar
1 c. milk
2 level tsp. baking powder
1 c. currants or raisins
1/2 tsp. mixed spices
1/3 tsp. salt

Beat butter and sugar until light and creamy. Add milk, fruit and lastly, the flour, salt and baking powder and spices which have been sifted together, turn into greased pan and bake in slow oven (325°F) about 1 hour.

This one served well during the depression, W.W.I and W.W.II.
