PARCHED PEANUTS 
Raw peanuts

Place 1 or 2 layers of shelled peanuts into flat pan. Place in 350 degree oven; stir occasionally until red husk rubs off, approximately 15-20 minutes. Be careful not to burn.

Roast unshelled the same way only a little longer; stir often.

It is remembered that Grandpa always carried peanuts in his pockets for grandchildren.

Excellent!! Have great memories of my daddy parching peanuts for me when we visited my grandparents in MS. We would then sit around the fireplace and enjoy eating those parched peanuts. Just enjoyed listening to the wonderful stories of their growing up days while eating those delicious parched peanuts.

My grandfather grew peanuts on his Virginia farm. Parched peanuts were almost always available and one of my favorite snacks. My cousin, who now owns the farm, gave me some raw peanuts and they are in the oven now!
