Lettuce Celery Green onions Mandarin oranges Slivered almonds Kiwi fruit (optional) DRESSING: Pepper to taste 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 c. salad oil 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tbsp. red wine vinegar 1 tbsp. snipped parsley Dash of Tabasco 1/4 c. almonds Caramelize slivered almonds in 1 tablespoon sugar. Cool on waxed paper. Add to salad just before serving. Variation: Green grapes, pineapple chunks in place of mandarin oranges and kiwi fruit. |
