KRUMKAKE IRON BATTER
2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups milk
1/2 cup melted butter
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, separated

This recipe is an old family favorite for many generations.

Have the eggs at room temperature.

Separate the egg yolks from the white and beat separately.

Melt the butter, stir in the milk, sugar and salt and egg yolks.

Stir together flour with baking powder to evenly mix. Stir into butter mixture. Add the beaten egg whites.

While preparing the batter, heat a well seasoned and greased Krumkake iron. Note: A teaspoon of vanilla extract, almond extract or rum can be added as a variation.

A short cut for this recipe is to use self-rising flour; if you do, eliminate the baking powder and cut the salt to 1/4 teaspoon.
