BIEROC
1 pt. warm water
2 tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 pkg. yeast
Flour

Mix yeast with 1/2 cup warm water to soften. Add to remaining 1 1/2 cups water along with rest of ingredients except flour. Add flour gradually, kneading until soft. Let rise until double. Punch down and let rise again. Then roll into 1/4 inch thick. Cut into 6 inch squares. Fill with hamburger mixture.

CABBAGE MIXTURE:

2 lbs. hamburger
Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder
1 med. onion (chopped)

Mix together and brown, then drain. Chop and steam 1/2 medium head of cabbage. Mix with hamburger.

Place as much mixture as possible on square of dough, about 2 tablespoons. Fold over to form a rectangle. Seal edges tightly and place with sealed edges down on baking sheet Bake immediately (do not let rise again) until brown in 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes.

May substitute a large can of sauerkraut (drained) for the cooked cabbage. This is a great recipe. Even people who dislike cabbage like this.
