PRESIDENT KENNEDY'S IRISH BREAD 
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. raisins
3/4 c. milk
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 tbsp. caraway seeds
Nuts (optional)

Mix flour, salt and baking powder. Cut in butter with pastry blender until it forms pea size pieces. Stir in sugar and raisins, mix. Combine milk, egg and egg yolk, beating well. Add to flour mixture. Stir well but do not beat. Pour into well-greased loaf pan. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
