RUSSIAN POUND CAKE 
1 1/2 c. butter
8 oz. cream cheese
3 c. sugar
10 eggs
2 c. walnuts
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
2 bottles maraschino cherries, cut in half

Cream butter, cream cheese and sugar well. Add eggs, two at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour, baking powder and vanilla. Pour 1/3 cup batter into greased tubed pan. Sprinkle nuts and cherries over batter. Repeat until nuts and cherries are used up. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and lower temperature to 325 degrees and bake for 3/4 to 1 hour more.
