1 (20 oz.) pkg. of 15 bean soup
Ham bone, left over ham
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 lg. can tomatoes
1 tsp. chili powder
1 lemon, squeezed
1 clove garlic, minced

Wash beans. Cover with water and soak overnight. In the morning drain and add 2 quarts of water. Add ham bone. Bring to a boil, then simmer 2 1/2 hours or until ham falls off bone. Remove bone and chop up ham. Add ham, chopped onions, tomatoes, chili powder, juice of lemon, minced garlic, salt and pepper to taste. Simmer 30 minutes.

For variety use Mexican or spicy tomatoes or barbeque sauce to flavor soup. Serves 12.
