GRAHAM CRACKER COOKIES
Cookie pan with edge
Graham crackers
1 c. almonds (or pecans)
2 sticks butter (I use 1 of butter and 1 of margarine)
1/2 c. sugar

Layer cookie pan with graham crackers (break them apart). Place close together so that most of the glaze will stay on top of the crackers. Sprinkle on nuts.

Heat butter and sugar on low until butter melts and sugar is dissolved. Then bring to a boil for 2 minutes.

Pour mixture over crackers and nuts.

Bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes.

Take out onto foil and let cool. (The first few are difficult to get out of pan.

Cooks Note: 1 box of graham crackers will make 3 pans of cookies.

I used honey grahams on 2 cookies sheets with 1 lb. of butter. 1/2 cup white sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar and then when out of oven, I put powdered sugar on them. Delish!

These are easy to make and taste real good. I made a pan of this recipe and another pan with cinnamon. Once you add sprinkles of chopped nuts (I used pecans), sprinkle a small amount of cinnamon on top before you spoon over sugar/butter mixture. I am impressed with this recipe because I had these before, but the lady who made them used sweetened condensed milk.. hers were good, but very rich! Too sweet for me. This recipe will be made often in my home.
