KRANTZ KUCHEN 
1 cake yeast, compressed or dry, dissolved in 1 c. warm milk
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp. sugar
3 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening (Crisco or butter)
3 egg yolks or 2 whole eggs

Rub shortening with flour, sugar, and salt; exactly as you do for pie crust. Beat eggs, add to milk and yeast mixture with spoon. DO NOT knead. Store in refrigerator overnight.

In the morning, divide into 3 equal parts. Roll on floured board as thin as noodles. Spread with melted butter, sugar and cinnamon; nuts, also if desired. Roll up like jelly roll and form ring. Let rise in a warm place until light, approximately 35 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 20-25 minutes.

Frost while warm and sparkle with colored sugar, nuts, or any other colorful decoration.
