PEPPERMINT COOKIES | |
3/4 c. sugar 3/4 c. shortening 1 egg 2 1/4 c. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. crushed peppermints 1/4 c. sugar Cream 3/4 cup sugar, shortening and egg together. Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. Add crushed peppermint candy to batter. Roll into 1 inch balls and then roll balls in 1/4 cup of sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes, until lightly browned. Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies and is easy to double. |
