2 sticks (1 c.) butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. cocoa
3 c. flour
1 1/3 tsp. baking soda
1 1/3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/3 c. beer
1 c. sauerkraut, rinsed, drained & finely chopped

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream sugar, butter and eggs. Add vanilla. Beat well. Add dry ingredients alternately with beer, beginning with beer and ending with beer. Fold in sauerkraut. Bake in 2 large loaf pans for 50 to 55 minutes. Don't tell people what this cake is until they eat it. They will think it is full of coconut.
