2 lg. vita herring snacks in wine sauce 1 med. sweet onion, slice 2-3 carrots, sliced in thin rings 1 med. apple, do not peel Bay leaf 1 can Carnation evaporated milk 1 can Eagle Brand condensed milk 1 lemon, juice only Wash and drain herring. Make sure it is thoroughly drained. In separate bowl (large) combine broth milks and stir in juice from whole lemon. Cut onion into thin slices. Add to milk. Add carrots to milk. Add apples, cut in very small pieces with skin on. Crumble bay leaf and add to milk. Add herring; stir well. Cover tightly. Store in refrigerator overnight (keeps 1 week). |
