BACON-STUFFED MUSHROOMS
 

13 x 9 x 2 inch buttered dish
1 lb. med. mushrooms
4 slices bacon, cooked and drained
1 med. onion, minced
Dash of pepper
3 oz. cream cheese
1/4 c. Italian style bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Wash and dry mushrooms. Remove stumps. Chop and reserve half for stuffing. Saute bacon, onion, chopped mushroom stems and seasoning (add a little butter if necessary). When cooked combine cheese with bacon mixture.

Push mixture into caps and dot open end with bread crumbs. Put mushrooms in baking dish filled side up. Add 1/4 cup water. Bake uncovered 15-20 minutes. May refrigerate for 1-2 days.
