My step daughters think the cookie dough is too rich. They prefer a shortbread cookie crust.

I've made this dessert and it is awesome. I used layers of kiwi, strawberries and bananas. I then brushed on a glaze of melted apricot preserves which makes the dessert picture perfect, tastes great and also prevents enzymatic browning of the bananas. You can also use pie crust which is alread round and ready to go.

For my recipe i use 1.5 packages of cream cheese and half a container of cool whip along with the vanilla and sugar. It gives it a lighter taste.

This is my favorite of the cream-cheese desserts! I too like to substitute some of the cream cheese with cool whip. I also add a tbsp. of lemon juice. For the fruit I use sliced strawberries, kiwi, bananas, and (drained well) can of fruit cocktail !! I thought the grapes would be weird tasting, it turned out it was my favorite topping! I think everyone should try using canned fruit cocktail at least once for this dessert.
