I had some, uuummm, computation issues when I made this last year and wound up putting in a whole bag of chocolate chips, 1/2 cup of butter and 1 cup of peanut butter. People at work said it was the best puppy chow they had ever eaten. :)

How long should one heat it? I still have a somewhat thick mixture when I microwave it for 30 secs.

Proportions are way off, you'll need at least double the chocolate chips, peanut butter, butter and vanilla for 9 cups.

I actually put this in a tin can along with choclate-covered rice krispie treats and chocolate-covered pretzels too last year for the holidays. My friends and family loved it. Especially the puppy chow :) Isn't it great being a puppy for a day!!

I have been making this for years and a yummy twist is to add a 1/4 tsp. mint extract instead of the vanilla. My recipe never did have the vanilla and you really don't miss it. Try the mint sometime (add or reduce to your taste preference).

Puppy chow is the best. Because I love all the ingredients especially the powdered sugar. And it is great to be a puppy for a while. :) lol
