BREAKAWAYS
1 sleeve Saltine crackers
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter (2 sticks)
1 lg bag Nestle's chocolate morsels

Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil, then place Saltine crackers on foil.

Melt butter in microwave, then add sugar to butter and stir. Evenly spread the butter and sugar mixture on crackers and bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 20 minutes.

Remove from oven and sprinkle morsels over entire cookie sheet. Return it to the oven just long enough to melt the morsels.

Remove from oven and spread chocolate evenly and then place in refrigerator to cool. When cool, peel back the foil and Breakaway the candy.

ENJOY!

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.

I made the mistake of using Nestles milk chocolate morsels and had to throw away the batch! The morsels never melted. I tried to spread them and they weren't even soft. I then put the tray under the broiler for a couple of minutes and the morsels got drier and still did not spread. I then started over with another batch of ingredients using semi sweet morsels and it worked fine. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Theseare a big hit at a party. I melt the chocolate chips in mircowave then pour over crackers after taking them out of the oven. Always turns out better.

I made this for my office and it was a huge hit. I found it was best to melt the chocolate first, then pour it over the cracker mixture. The salty and sweet flavors worked amazing together.
