BON BON COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
Food coloring, if desired
1 1/2 c. flour (dip method or sifted)
1/8 tsp. salt

For chocolate bon bons, blend in 1 square melted unsweetened chocolate. Mix butter, sugar, vanilla and food coloring. Blend flour and salt in thoroughly with hand. If dough is dry, add 1-2 tablespoons cream.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. For each cookie, wrap 1 tablespoonful dough around a filling. Bake 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet 12-15 minutes, or until set but not brown. Cool; dip tops of cookies in icing. Makes 20-25 cookies.

FILLING:

Chocolate chunks
Candies or maraschino cherries
Nuts or pitted dates

TOPPINGS:

Chopped nuts, coconut or colored sugar

ICING:

Mix:

2 tbsp. cream
1 tsp. vanilla
Food coloring, if desired

For chocolate icing add 1 square unsweetened chocolate (1 ounce) melted and use 1/4 cup cream.
