1 pt. heavy cream
1 stick lightly salted butter (4 oz.)
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
1 lb. fettuccine
1/4 tsp. white pepper

1. In double boiler heat cream, butter, nutmeg, cheese and pepper until smooth. Do not bring to boil. Sauce can be kept hot until serving.

2. Cook pasta according to package directions.

Pour sauce over pasta and blend.

Serve with additional Parmesan cheese.

Meat lovers can add thinly cut strips of ham to sauce while it's cooking.
