2 c. oats
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. butter, melted
1/4 c. dark corn syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces, melted
1/4 c. chopped nuts

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease 9"x9"x2" baking pan. In medium bowl, mix oats and brown sugar. Stir together butter, syrup, salt and vanilla; mix thoroughly into oat mixture. Press dough evenly in bottom of pan.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until top bubbles. Cool. Spread chocolate on top. Sprinkle nuts on chocolate. Chill 1 hour. Cut into bars, about 2"x1". Yield: 32 cookies.
