ELEPHANT SOUP 
1 med. elephant, eviscerated and washed clean
2 sm. rabbits (optional)
1/2 ton carrots, chopped
1/4 ton celery, chopped
1/4 ton onions, chopped
3/4 ton potatoes, peeled and quartered
150 gallons water
Salt and pepper to taste

Cut the elephant into bite-size pieces. This will take about 2 months. Prepare vegetables, add water, seasoning and elephant meat into a rather large pot. Cook slowly over a hard wood fire at bubbling simmer, until meat is tender. This recipe should feed about 3, 863 people, give or take a few. Should more than expected show up -- add rabbits to pot. Do this only if extremely necessary as most people don't like a hare in their soup.
