FINN BREAD 
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 tsp. brown sugar
1 1/4 c. whole wheat flour
1 tsp. salt
2 c. warm water

Mix yeast in 1/3 cup warm water, brown sugar and let stand while you mix the whole wheat flour, salt and 2 cups warm water. Add yeast mixture. Let set for 1 hour, then add 1/2 cube shortening or butter (melted) and 5 cups of flour (1 at a time). Mix good, ball and cover. Let rise for 2 hours. Divide in half. Makes 2 round loaves. Prick with a fork. Let rise for 1 hour. Bake at 400 to 425 degrees for 30 minutes. Brush with butter.
