PRIZE-WINNING PEACH COBBLER | |
3/4 c. flour 1/8 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking powder 1 c. sugar 3/4 c. milk 1/2 c. butter 2 c. fresh, sliced peaches or 16 oz. can peaches, drained 1 c. sugar Sift flour, salt, and baking powder; mix with 1 cup sugar. Slowly stir in milk to make batter. Melt butter in 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Pour batter over melted butter. Do not stir. Mix peaches and remaining sugar. (If using canned peaches do not add additional sugar.) Carefully spoon peaches over batter. Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees. Delicious hot or cold. Makes its own crust. Serve with cream, if desired. Serves 6. |
