CARAMEL CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1 reg. pkg. German chocolate cake mix
2/3 c. evaporated milk
1 c. melted butter
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
1 c. chocolate chips

Make the cake as package directs. Add 1/3 cup evaporated milk, nuts and melted butter, folding in completely. Put half of batter into greased 9"x13" pan. Bake in 350 degree oven about 20 minutes. While baking, melt caramels with the other 1/3 cup evaporated milk. After the cake has baked 20 minutes, remove from oven and pour the caramel mixture over it. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the caramel mixture. Pour remaining half of cake batter over the top and bake in 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until cake tests done.
