1 1/2 lbs. ground lamb or beef
1 lg. onion, peeled, finely chopped
3 lg. potatoes, peeled, cubed
4 carrots, peeled, chopped
Water to cover
Salt & pepper to taste
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Brown meat in large skillet over moderate heat. Add onion as meat begins to color. Stir occasionally; break up large chunks of meat with spoon. Drain off fat. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cook 1 hour. Stir occasionally. Mixture should be thick when done; vegetables should be tender. Serve slumgullion over mashed potatoes. Makes 4 to 5 servings.
