2/3 c. butter, melted & cooled
1 lb. light brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. water
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate bits
1 c. broken walnuts

Beat butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and water with electric mixer until blended. Add sifted dry ingredients, chocolate bits and nuts and mix thoroughly. Spread in a greased and floured jelly roll pan, 15 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 1". Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Don't over bake, if you want them chewy, not dry.
