OLD FASHION FROSTED SUGAR COOKIES
 

1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. confectioners' sugar
1 c. cooking oil
4 1/4 c. sifted flour
2 eggs
1 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. soda
1 tbsp. cream of tartar

Cream together butter and sugar. Separately beat eggs and salt together. Add to creamed mixture. Add oil and vanilla and blend. Sift together flour, soda, and cream of tartar and blend. Pour some sugar in a small dish and with a spoon take small pieces of dough and roll into balls. Place the balls about 1 inch apart on greased cookie sheet. Dip a water tumbler into the sugar and use to press the dough flat.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Makes about 7 dozen cookies. Let cookies cool and frost with butter cream frosting.

BUTTER CREAM FROSTING:

1 lb. box confectioners' sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/8 tbsp. vanilla
3 to 4 tbsp. milk

Cream together butter, salt, 1/3 of the sugar in large bowl. Gradually add milk and remaining sugar.
