KAFTE KEBAB 
1 lb. ground lamb or beef
1 med. onion, grated
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 egg
1/4 each thyme, rosemary, parsley and margoram
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
About 1 c. bread crumbs
Tomato, green pepper, onion, olive oil
8 oz. plain yogurt

Mix ground meat, onion, garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper in large bowl with 3 tablespoons water and 1/2 of bread crumbs. Shape into 24 little logs about 2 1/2 inches long and 1 inch thick. Thread lengthwise on 6 long metal skewers alternating with green pepper, onion and tomato wedges. 4 meatballs per skewer. Brush lightly with olive oil. Grill over hot fire. Serve sizzling hot with rice and yogurt to spoon over the meat.
