NIGHT IN OLD SAN ANTONIO TEXAS
CAVIAR
 
1/2 onion, chopped
1 bunch green onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
6 jalapeno chilies, minced
1 tbsp. garlic, minced
2 tomatoes, diced
8 oz. bottle zesty Italian dressing
1/3 bunch cilantro, chopped
1 can Hominy, drained
2 cans black eyed peas, drained

Combined all ingredients and refrigerate 2 hours. Serve with corn chips or tortilla chips.

I have had numerous requests for this at cookouts and family gatherings for many years. The recipe I have, which I received from a friend is almost the same as this one except that it also calls for a can of corn and fewer jalapenos. It HAS to be served with either Frito or Tostitos Scoops!

Best chunky dip I've ever made, have been making this recipe for 10 years. Everyone asks for the recipe, it's delicious with chips, stirred into scrambled eggs, as topping for salad, and it gets even better the few days after it's made.
