Thanks so much. I lost my recipe and couldn't remember if it required more than sauce, jelly and meatballs.
So good and so easy.

You can also put frozen meatballs in crock pot, pour chili sauce over them and add jelly. No need to heat anything first. Cook on low-as jelly melts just stir. I have made them this way for years now.

My recipe includes oregano about half way through the heating process. Try it, it adds remarkable flavor especially when you reheat the next day!

I use Italian Meatballs from Sam's, YUM and I'm sure there's Oregano in those to give that extra flavor!

Try using mustard instead of chili sauce or use both it makes them amazing.

I have been making these meatballs for years as well as my mom and aunt. I agree they are good but why does everyone like using pre-made meatballs? I understand using pre-made if your in a hurry but try making home-made meatballs, they make this recipe 20 x's better. I also use 2 chili bottles, 1 cup of grape jelly and 1 tbsp. of mustard. Well good luck and enjoy!

I don't know about anyone else, but I use the pre-made meatballs because when I make this recipe, it's usually for a party and it would take me all day to stand in the kitchen and hand roll 150-180 tiny meatballs!! I love to cook and pride myself on using home-made whenever possible..but for this recipe, it seems a little extreme to use home made meatballs. Besides, the frozen brands in the store have come a long way when it comes to taste. This recipe is easy and quick..love it.

I use COSTCO's frozen meatballs - so far the best for me. All at regular grocery store not savory. Takes so long to make meatballs, I agree with you Dawn.
Have found that letting the meatballs gently simmer in Spaghetti sauce, they develop a wonderful soft texture - if in Red Sauce I add a little bit of Fennel seed.

I'm with you. I always use the frozen ones and my fave are the Great Value Italian Meatballs. I buy them in the biggest pack and use them in several different appetizer/party meatball recipes. They're timesavers and delicious.

We get raves on this too, but we use tomato sauce and grape jam with Italian meatballs in the crock pot. I keep promising to try it with chili sauce, but I havent been able to make the leap yet. Everyone loves this version too much, i've been too afraid to try!

I also add Pineapple tidbits to it for a real Hawaiian flavor and 1/4 cup of Worstershire sauce. Awesome for a Luau!

This is such an easy recipe. I just dump the chili sauce and grape jelly on top of the meatballs in the crockpot and stir them a bit. The jelly will melt on its own. Delicious!! Oh, and it makes the house smell great :)

How long do you have to cook them for the meatballs to be done if it is in the crockpot? I LOVE IT!!!
