FLUFFY MERINGUE 
3 egg whites
1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
6 tbsp. sugar

Beat egg whites, vanilla and cream of tartar until soft peaks form. Gradually add the sugar, beating until sugar is dissolved and peaks are stiff and glossy. Carefully spread over any desired hot filling, being careful to seal the meringue to the edge of pie crust. Bake in 350 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until peaks are golden brown.

Tip: Before cutting each slice of pie, dip the knife in water to keep meringue from sticking to knife.
