HONEY - APPLE DUMPLINGS 
CRUST:

2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. Crisco
1/3 c. milk
6 Golden Delicious apples, pared & cored but left whole
1 tbsp. butter
6 tbsp. honey
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. salt

HONEY SAUCE:

2 tbsp. Crisco
3/4 c. honey
1 1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
Nutmeg & cinnamon to taste

Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Cut Crisco into dry mixture until just crumbly. Add milk and mix until soft dough forms. Roll dough into 12 x 18 inch rectangle. Cut into 6 equal squares. Place an apple in each square.

Mix butter, honey, lemon juice and salt; place mixture in center of cored apples. Moisten edges of dough with cold water. Bring 4 corners of dough square to top and press edges firmly together. Place 10 x 6 x 3 inch pan which has been coated with Crisco.

Boil all ingredients listed for the Honey Sauce. Stir constantly while sauce boils for 5 minutes. Pour sauce over dumplings and bake in 400 degree oven for 30-35 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or cheese.
