RUSSIAN FRUIT CAKE 
1 lb. raisins
1 lb. white raisins
1 lb. currants
1 lb. dates, pitted
1 lb. figs
1 lb. walnuts
1 lemon, juiced

All ingredients may be "more or less". No baking! No flour! No sugar!

Mix together all 6 pounds of fruit and nuts. Put the fruit through a meat grinder or food processor. Add the juice of 1 lemon and mix with your hands. Pack ground fruit into 2 bread pans and cover with tinfoil or plastic wrap. Place in refrigerator for 10 days to let flavors meld.

Slice very thinly and serve with a cup of good tea. Cream cheese tastes great spread on it. Lasts forever or until gone!

DO NOT use a food processor. It makes the fruit/nut mixture too gummy. Use an old fashioned meat grinder with medium holes. My family has been making this cake since my Grandparents came to the United States before 1914.
