WESTERN CHILI 
2 lb. ground beef
1 onion, diced
1/2 green pepper
1 tsp. salt
1-2 tbsp. chili powder
1/4-1/2 tsp. garlic salt or powder
16 oz. tomatoes that have been cut or blended
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce or 16 oz. tomato juice
1-2 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans, as desired

Brown beef, onions and pepper together in skillet. Add salt, garlic and 1/2 of the chili powder while browning. Drain grease. Add tomatoes, sauce or juice and simmer for 1 hour. Add kidney beans and rest of chili powder. Simmer for 30 minutes longer. For spicy chili, add 2 diced jalapeno peppers while browning meat.
