1 1/2 lbs. beef cubes
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. Crisco oil
1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, chopped
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped carrots
2 tbsp. chopped onion
1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 c. shredded American or cheddar cheese

Combine flour and salt. Flour meat and brown in hot oil. Transfer meat to 13x9 shallow baking dish. Blend remaining flour mixture into pan drippings in skillet. Add tomatoes, celery, carrots, onion, and Worcestershire. Stir constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Pour over meat. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours until meat and vegetables are tender. Sprinkle cheese over meat. Return to oven for a few minutes to melt cheese. Serve over rice. Serves 4-6.
