BAKED FRENCH TOAST WITH NUT
TOPPING
 
1 loaf whole grain-nut bread
8 lg. eggs
2 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. applesauce
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. mace
1/2-1 tsp. cinnamon

Heavily butter a 9 x 13 inch pan. Cube bread and place in pan. Mix other ingredients and pour over. Refrigerate overnight.

1 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. corn syrup
1-2 c. nuts

Mix and pour over French toast before or halfway through baking time of one hour at 350 degrees.
