Awesome! I did fried onions with this recipe. One note - It's important to dry the foods that will be dipped in the batter so that the batter will stick.

Dredge them in flour first, the batter will stick just fine.

Used this recipe for chicken. Very good. I also added around a teaspoon of garlic powder and a little onion powder and it turned out amazing!

I could see where this would be perfect for Onion Rings. I tried with Chicken and the coating was definitely crispy, yet very smooth. Looking for that KFC crumble on the outside! I will try dredging with flour first next time.

Me and my husband work on a dairy farm down in Georgia, and this reminds us of our dinners when we were children! I add a little poultry seasoning for taste!

I didn't find that the batter was as crispy as I would have liked. It was more fluffy than I expected. I added some garlic powder and onion powder for some extra flavor. Overall not a bad recipe.

It tasted great! I used boneless chicken strips. But if I hadn't added extra seasonings it would have been very bland!

Good recipe, although the batter worked out to be a little on the thin side for my liking. I added an extra 1/4 cup of flour, and a half a cup of seasoned breadcrumbs.

Worked great.

Not bad. Chicken almost came out looking like Chinese takeout chicken fingers. I'd definitely recommend dredging in flour though. Served to 2 picky eaters who absolutely loved it.

I have a feeling that this recipe would be better with only 1/2 cup of milk. I also added extra flour, but it wasn't enough to really coat the chicken, even having patted it dry and dredging it before dipping in the batter. I also made sweet potato fries with the batter, but my oil was too hot, so the batter burned before the fries were cooked through. Overall, with a little trial and error, I think this will be a go-to recipe for me. Thanks for sharing!
