BRITISH FLAPJACKS
 

2 tbsp. polyunsaturated butter
6 tbsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
3 tbsp. light corn syrup
1 tbsp. clear honey
1 1/2 c. oats
9 whole blanched almonds

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream together butter, sugar, salt and ginger. add syrup and honey and beat until smooth. Mix in oats. Spread the mixture into a greased 8x8 inch pan, smoothing the top with the back of knife. Mark into 9 squares and press an almond into center of each. Bake 25 minutes or until lightly brown and firm. Cut into squares and cool in the same pan. Makes 9 flapjacks. Looks like a brownie.
