BLACKBERRY COBBLER
 

4 c. blackberries, fresh or frozen
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. water
4 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Pastry for double crust 9" pie

Mix together blackberries, sugar, water, butter and vanilla; bring to a boil. Remove from heat and pour half mixture into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Roll out half of dough into a rectangular shape 1/4 inch thick. Cut into 1 inch rectangular strips. Top berry mixture with strips and bake 15 minutes at 475 degrees or until brown.

Pour remaining berries onto browned pastry and top with remaining pastry prepared, as before, into 1 inch strips. Sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar over this and bake 15 minutes at 475 degrees or until brown.
