BREAD DOUGH BASKET
 

1 2/3 c. lukewarm water
1 3/4 c. salt
4 c. all-purpose flour

Mix water and salt; add flour; knead 2 minutes. Roll out on floured surface and cut into strips 1/2 to 3/4 inch wide. Weave on Pyrex dish turned upside down or loaf pan. Brush on cold egg yolk. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Cool; take basket off dish and turn up right. Brush inside with cold egg yolk and bake 30 minutes at 305 degrees. Cool; spray varnish. Makes 1 basket.

(Note: This can be made by a child. Instead of cutting strips, let them roll it in their hands.)
