Bowl
Milk or cream

Fresh clean snow

Beat 2 eggs in a large bowl. Add 2 cups milk or cream, 1 1/2 cups sugar and 3 tablespoons vanilla. Mix together and add enough fresh, clean snow to create the proper consistency. Sort of like slush. Serve this yummy treat in a dish or ice cream cone.

Just used your recipe today and we're all sitting here in the warmth of our home eating snow cream. This brings back such great memories for me and my husband! Perfect recipe!

These recipes for snow cream are out of hand. you dont need all of those ingredients. the real snow cream recipe from the poor southern recipes is as follows. Place a large bowl out when its supposed to snow. bring it in when its full. use one can sweetend condensed milk, and a table spoon of vanilla or what ever flavor extract you want to use. mix it n serve it.

I'm sure Chuck has his sources, but I grew up in the South and moved to Idaho a year and a half ago. We just got a huge snow here and I called my Nana to ask for her recipe. It was this exactly, just a few adjustments to ingredient portions.

Also, the only difference between what Chuck listed and what's listed here is the eggs. Milk/cream/sweetened & condensed milk are pretty much up to the person, though my Southern grandma hadn't ever used S&C milk to make snow cream (evaporated milk, yes). Plus, S&C milk would take the place of the eggs as far as consistency goes, and would be "safer" for those afraid to eat raw egg.

I did however totally set my bowl out last night to collect the snow and nearly couldn't find it this morning! It was buried :)

I began making this recipe when I first got married. It became a snow tradition for my husband and I. We love this recipe and plan on it becoming a part of our 4 children's childhood. I hope that it brings back great memories for them as they prepare it for their children someday. We just had our first white Christmas. Snow cream over the Christmas holidays is a great way to celebrate!!

Had fun making this recipe with my daughter and nephew, my husband enjoyed getting the snow and mixing the ingredients. A fun activity and treat when you are stuck in the house from snow.

This is how my mom always used to make it while I was growing up..Since growing up though I'm scared of eating raw eggs especially if I'm feeding it to my kids so I like using the sweetened condensed milk (Eagle Brand). So although I know this recipe tastes great, the eggs still scare me especially if you have young children eating it.

Delicious recipe! My Daughter and her friend loved it. A little too sweet to me though. I might try a little less sugar next time. Thanks for the recipe.

EASY to prepare and the kids LOVED it! Some people have an issue with raw eggs but it was great! We don't get to make it often living in SC but I will definitely save this recipe! Thank you!

I loved this recipe, although I felt the sugar content was way too sweet. Next time I am gonna just do one cup of sugar, as opposed to one and a half.

Made this yesterday for my granddaughters. It was good but I will have to agree with some of the others as it was quite sweet. I think maybe one cup of sugar would have been enough.

Wonderful recipe....SPLENDA works well too, even less grainy tasting, not to mention less calories! lol!

Every since I was a child my grandparents and Mother have used this same recipe with the exception of the eggs. I would never eat raw eggs because I fear of getting sick or making someone else sick. For snow cream you don't need eggs anyway. If you want a fast and easy fix for snow cream even in the summer. Go to Starbucks and get a Vanilla Frappe with whip cream minus the espresso. It taste just like the old fashion snow cream we are talking about here.

If the sugar makes it too "grainy", try this: heat the milk slightly and dissolve the sugar in it. Let the milk cool completely and then add.
